Mission Statement

Kootenay Boundary Autism Society (KBAS) is committed to raising awarenss of Autism by providing information, educational opportunities, and resources to individuals, families, caregivers or anyone with an interest in Autism Spectrum Disorders.

  KBAS sponsors:

¨      A Resource Library with a variety of books on various disabilities including, but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Down Syndrome

¨      Educational opportunities via web casts

¨     Social Meetings ~ An opportunity to meet individuals, families, guest speakers and  professionals with an interest in Autism Spectrum Disorders

¨      Website www.kbas.ca ~ Contains resources and information for individuals to explore.  

KBAS strives to work collaboratively with families to help guide them towards resources, education and information so they are able to make informed decisions.   

Note: Many Society Members have had experiences with different interventions & therapies, educational options, and coping strategies and may be willing to answer questions you may have.  Be advised however, that KBAS members are volunteers and the opinions they offer are personal experiences and are NOT a substitute for diligent investigation on the part of the individual inquiring.
